Chocolate Chip Scones
This scone recipe is a standard second breakfast for us. That's right, we said second breakfast. If you're one of those sad people who only eats one breakfast each day, we truly feel sorry for you. Second breakfast with a cup of coffee is truly one of the best parts of Fat Friday, or any day for that matter.
Chocolate Chip Scones
servings: 8 scones
time: 30 minutes
Ingredients:
- 2 cups flour
- 1 Tbsp baking powder
- 3 Tbsp sugar
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 5 Tbsp cold butter, cubed
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
- 1 cup heavy cream
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
- Whisk together flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt in a large bowl.
- Cut in butter,
- Stir in chocolate chips.
- Fold in cream with a rubber spatula.
- Turn dough out and knead for about 30 seconds. Shape into a 10" disk.
- Cut disk into 8 wedges and places scones on ungreased baking sheet.
- Bake for 13 minutes.
- Remove to wire rack to cool for 10 minutes.
Ready to eat! They are best eaten the day they are made, and especially best when warm.
